Maybe he had changed his handle by the time I joined, but the guy buying the tickets when I went to the game was 21thebestJavy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:53 pm Surg, I believe that was Deadwood Al who purchased the tickets. I know he fronted all of the tickets for the Anti-Christmas game I went to in 2009 or 10. That was a pretty large group, and someone, I don't remember who gave him a hard time for getting good seats for the game. it only cost us $15 each, and someone thought that was too much and walked away. Poor guy got stuck with like 10 tickets because of that and a few no-shows. I offered him $40 to help offset his loss.

Yeah, that was another guy then. 21 was a pretty influential guy on the board, but he wasn't at the game I went to. He was a pretty divisive guy and really had a problem with a poster named McHostage (who passed at a young age)I. still remember some of the names when I went. Kovie, Doc, PAGamecock, Captain Jack, Moose, Deadwood and the late XbonesX are the names just off the top of my mind. It was a game vs. the Nats, right after the Lastings Milledge/Nyjer Morgan trade. Cutch was called up shortly after that.Surgnbuck wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 6:45 pmMaybe he had changed his handle by the time I joined, but the guy buying the tickets when I went to the game was 21thebestJavy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:53 pm Surg, I believe that was Deadwood Al who purchased the tickets. I also should mention that Javy and I met up in 2017, the last year I coached at
Wildwood. He came to all our playoff games and had to drive 90 miles from Philly
and back. Meant a lot to me. Another great guy.
Met doc at a Pitt Football game. We had quite a few laughs at Kovie's expense.
