After a surprisingly nice start to the season, Perez is becoming a problem (as he was last year when the Rangers removed him from the rotation). In his last 4 starts (including tonight):
5.1 IP, 8 hits, 3 ERs
5.0 IP, 8 hits, 4 ERs
5.0 IP, 11 hits, 9 ERs
4.1 IP, 5 hits, 2 ERs.

Pirates don’t score in the 6th. Matt Chapman with a one out HR in the 7th. Giants lead 5-2.

Bucs not getting it done tonight. Down to their last six outs. That weekend series in Chicago is looking far away.

Just thinking about how unfortunate it was that Contreras
was unable to come around. Hoping that Oviedo can make a full
recovery next season from Tommy John
