3 things that will get this team back in the race.
1 - fire Haines - He is so bad he couldn't teach Lassie to bark on que.
2 - fire Shelton
3 - fire Cherrington

Like Bobster I am blown away how bad this team in performing. I'll show more interest if that do these three things.

They aren't demoting Cruz, it would shock me if they did. But Davis, Suwinski, and Triolo should be sent down. Tellez should be released. IDK if Taylor can be sent down, if not release him too.

That's how you shake things up, not moving guys around in the order. Time to give someone else a shot. I want to see the guys that are the supposed future of the team.

I doubt they would send Cruz to Indy, but Davis, Suwinski and Williams should be replaced with Bae, Grandal and either Gonzales or Peguero. I am to the point to cut Tellez, and purchase the contract of Lamb.

19-year old middle infielder (of course, what else?) hasn't made it past rookie league yet. Put up good stats there but way too early to give any credence to his prospect ranking.

Nutting is paying Tellez 3.2 million. So he's probably wondering why his GM acquired him. But Nutting isn't going to eat that contract. They'll try to trade him to unload his salary but who would want him?

When they released Choi he was making more than 4 million.I think if they tried to trade Tellez before the middle of June they must get his approval since he was signed as a free agent. If they wait that long they are well past one third of the season. If Tellez continues to struggle why not let him go?

St Louis won today which officially drops the Pirates into last place.

Choi was traded on August 1, so the season was two-thirds over. His salary was 4.65 million, so he had already been paid two-thirds of that and Nutting had to eat a little over 1.53 million when traded. Tellez has been paid for 1 month now so that leaves about 2.7 million remaining out of his 3.2 million contract. I don't think Nutting would eat that much. Tellez will have to play about half the season to reduce what he's still owed to about what Choi was still owed. I think signing Tellez was a mistake. But I think they're stuck with him for a while.
