If they take the Pitcher we won`t see him for 2-3 years, something bad will happen. Ask Bullington, Burnett, the kid before Burnett etc.

Man, IDK. In a vacuum, I'd say the pitcher. But it seems like we'll see a position player on the Pirates longer.

The vacuum begins with the guy making it to the MLB roster.  That's no sure thing with any suspect.

After we get past that assumption, I would say that if a team wants to win faster, go SP.  It's such a precious commodity, where the position player is one of eight.  A dominant SP can do it all by himself, but once every so many games.

If it wants to win longer, then position player might be the better way to go.  If I was a GM, I wouldn't care less about "longer."  I might be out of a job before it gets to that point, and the person who takes over benefits.  I always want to win faster.  Time is always the enemy.  Time is never a friend.

One comment about the 2021 draft when the Pirates saved money on 1-1. That year they had the number one pick in each round of the draft. This year they have the first pick, but later rounds they are drafting I believe third. So players they may have wanted could be gone by the time their number gets called.

They both look great, my only concern with Skenes is the potential of TJ surgery. Today so many pitchers end up having this procedure, and with the Bucs luck he would probably break down before he ever threw a pitch in the Big Leagues.

I agree take the position player, but there is some talk out there that Crews is not interested in signing with the Pirates. If that is true, they may end up with Skenes.
