Wonderful.

Blew a 4-0 lead yesterday.

Blew a 5-1 lead tonight.

If we had won just those 2 games we'd be 60-61 and 3.5 games out of 1st.

Pathetic.

Golden chance to tie it (or take the lead) in the 7th, but of course 1st and 2nd with no outs is NOT a good formula for the Pirates.

Pirates are no longer eligible to win this game because that would require a BIG HIT at some point, and this team seems incapable of it.

Cards get 2 runners on ... and they get a 2-run triple.

Pirates get 2 runners on ... and they get back-to-back groundouts to the pitcher.

It's better than Benoit. What an acquisition. Has he pitched a scoreless inning for us since he came?

Maybe we can hit some home runs when we get to Williamsport.

And why exactly did Clint decide to give him the ball?

And does anyone think  Cutch will be a target next inning?

Better question ... why did NH acquire Benoit in the first place. He sucked in Philly. Mind boggling, but I'm sure ...

Five in a row. 15 hits. Bad bullpen.

Only if we play on the little league fields.

Does anyone think Wainwright is done? He wasn't throwing hard and had some curve balls in the 60 mph range.

He's had a number of awful games this year. Six times he's failed to go 5 innings. But he's also had some very good games and some mediocre games. He'll be 36 in 2 weeks and clearly isn't the pitcher he used to be. His inconsistency may mean he's at a point where everything has to be perfect for him to pitch well. He's owed 19.5 million in 2018 so i guess he'll be back for 1 more season. But from one game to the next they never know what they'll get from him.

He just wasn't throwing hard. Wehner on the radio said he watched his warm up and was surprised they sent him out there.

Maybe the Pirates can trade for him for another project next year?
