And send down Frazier or Osuna?

Neither I expect Kontos to be DFA once Musgrove is activated on Friday to start. The guy I would send down is Kyle Crick. He has done well but he has options and the Pirates don’t need to carry that many relievers when they could use the position player help with a guy like Meadows. They have Felipe, Feliz, Rodriguez, Santana, Glasnow and Brault the bullpen will be fine if they send Crick down and keep Meadows up here. It makes the most sense.

I know what you're saying but there's the concern of making the bullpen two guys shorter though.

I disagree, Freddy.  I expect Kontos to go down, released, whatever for Musgrove.  I don't see a need for an extra bench player when the offense has been the strong point of the season.  The pitching needs more help.  Crick has been very good.  I expect Meadows to go down.  We will find out eventually.

Looking at the roster, I'd expect that if Meadows stays it will be at the expense of Jose Osuna, which people also won't like.

I think you're right, Dog. Personally I'd like to see Meadows stick around but I don't see that happening. Good riddance to Kontos.

Crick has been pretty good but he is a relief pitcher who does not pitch very often. How many times will Crick be used a week 2 maybe 3 times at best if even then. Meadows can play everyday and help the offense right now probably a lot more then Polanco can. Plus, bYou have a chance to send Polanco a message by playing Meadows over him that he needs to step his game up or else. I expect that Meadows probably will be sent down once he is back up but that doesn’t mean I think it’s the best move or the right move for the Pirates that will make them a better team right now and win more games because I don’t think it is.

Guys like Meadows, Luplow or Orsuna could handle right field if Polanco was traded.

No way they will trade Polanco. No way they bench him. Nor should they. Despite the current slump, Neal looks to be “more right” about this team than me or most of us. Not withstanding this slump, this is still a good team. No way I start trading key pieces now.

Polanco is the kind of player they have to give every opportunity to fulfill his potential. Polanco, Glasnow, Bell, along with Meadows and Keller - these are the guys they have to build around. Marte and Dickerson are going to be too expensive to carry both after next year.

This team, short term and long term, needs Polanco to have every chance to develop. I would definitely move him lower in the lineup, I’d give him some days off. he frustrates me as much as anybody. But the Pirates need him in the lineup, today and he next five years or so.

I couldn't disagree more that there's some obligation the Pirates have to give Polanco more than the 1900 at bats he's already gotten to realize the elusive potential.

He may end up being a really good outfielder.  There are signs. Thank goodness there are still signs!     That's why you sell on the signs, because if you wait much longer, you can end up valueless (glasnow).

I think Polanco's having a decent season so far also hoping we get a decent return for him and I think we should. Meadows can go down. But once super 2 is safe I hope Polanco is still floating around 117w/RC. If so, sell sell sell

If we have questions then why wouldn't other teams' GMs? The "trade him because he's not going to be any good" idea, I don't know . . .

I don't think you get much for him right now until he starts turning it around, at which point you probably don't want to trade him. Maybe I'm wrong.

They do have questions, but we also have hope, so do they.   And we also have Meadows in the pipe ready and Dickerson and Marte under contract next year.   not to mention Jason Martin is tearing up AA at 22years old..  just destroying it.

We are heavy on OF talent.     I'm not saying trade him because he's not any good.  I'm saying the opposite.  trade him because he's doing pretty good (I'm much closer to Dog's position in this thread than the naysayers) and possibly could do very good.

He also possibly could pull his hammy tomorrow and piddle around the rest of the season.

Yeah like I said my ask would be a SP. That's the big spot for an upgrade to this team IMO
