I am going to guess they will sign either Maybin or Pillar, but I wonder since Brock Holt is still unsigned they might offer him a contract. He could play left field, and Reynolds could play centerfield.

I think there are only 2 reasons a free agent would sign with the Pirates. (1) His agent has exhausted all efforts to find another team or (2) the best offer from another team is to be a bench player and the Pirates would start him so that he could sign a 1 year contract, increase his value and try again next year.

This makes sense to me. Miami has the beach, nightlife, large Spanish speaking population and no income taxes iirc making it attractive to more players than Pittsburgh.

Red Sox are close to signing Kevin Pillar. Maybe we will sign Maybin.
