Maybe those guys told the Rangers to get rid of Kela ASAP.
That is probably true. The Rangers probably wanted to get him off their team. I hope the majority of teams pass on him this offseason when he is a free agent. If he signs he deserves a minor league contract.

You are right, he has a pretty long track record of being a temperamental jerk anyone who wants him be ware.
I think I would list him with Joggin George Hendrick, and Derek Bell as 3 of the worst bad attitude individuals who have played on Pirate teams over the past 30 years or so.

Don't forget about Ian Snell who changed his name like Flepe Vazquez who was also a head case. Player evaluations should also include their psyche.

Bannister's opinion mattered so much they laid him off in June. They also traded for Kela when Bannister was with the Rangers and Marin was with the Mariners.

Is hype(d) some revered term here? its applied very liberally.

Just noticed that Kela is still a free agent. One would think that a 28 year old relief pitcher would have been signed by now with ST about 10 days away. I hope teams pass on him, because I just have this feeling he faked an injury last year prior to the trade deadline. He took his time coming to the Pirates after the trade from Texas, and to me he is not a player I would want on my team.
