The Pirates' have the smartest rest policy because they are already resting for next year while the post season teams have to go out and play some more. Here is the chairman of the Pirates' analytics department explaining to his peers of the post season teams that he has outsmarted them.

Austin Meadows (that name sounds familiar) with a two run HR to put the Rays out front in Game 3.

Did you finally spring for cable with that teacher's pension paying you 239 percent of your retirement year base pay?

Or just following on gameday using your neighbor's wifi?

Good to know I'm not the only person watching baseball and not football. All last night people kept asking me about the football games today. Told them all football doesn't exist until the World Series ends.

Besides, we have Champs here to let us know how the Steelers did...and the Eagles. Him, WWD, GW they all have a Philly unfascination

The Rays, using Wander Franco as an example, seem to not only draft and trade well, they waste no time getting prospects playing. Maximize the years of control.

If you missed the moment of the huge cheer on Schwarber making a routine fielding play and underhanded toss to first, you just aren't a baseball fan.

Schwarber fielded on previously, tossed the ball underhanded flat footed, and tossed it 30 feet over the head of the pitcher covering first.

This time, he fielded the ball and properly ran towards the base and made the routine toss......He raised his arms in triumph, the fans gave a standing ovation, and he tipped his cap.

Man I love baseball

Don't be putting the bad mouth on us teachers.  We may have been overpaid but we certainly weren't overworked.

No, we still just have the basic cable.  Even if we had a package that included sports channels, I doubt I'd watch baseball.  I can't just sit and watch it, except at the ballpark.  I usually follow it on Gameday or the radio.  Then I watch the highlights on MLB.com.

Some weird stuff yesterday, though.  The throw in the Astros/Sox game that hit the batter running to first base;  Arozarena colliding with Schwarber in the Tampa/Boston game;  the ball bouncing off the wall and then the right fielder before going over the wall in the Rays/Sox game.  There's nothing better than baseball.
