He was hitting .311 at Albuquerque (PCL).fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 10:17 pm The Rockies have selected the contract of former Buc Cole Tucker. He is another of the Pirates #1 draft picks who didn’t pan out.
I remember Jim Price very well and was surprised yesterday to learn he never played with the Pirates. I guess I remembered him as a Pirate minor leaguer. I always thought he had gotten the ol' cup o' coffee with the Bucs.Babe Adams wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 8:07 pm Tigers broadcaster and catcher Jim Price passed at 81. He got a ring with the 1968 Tigers. He was sold to the Tigers in April 1967, without ever appearing as a Pirate, and I'm sure the only reason I remember him as a Pirate is that he shared a "Rookie Stars" card with Luke Walker.
He was disappointed when he didn't make the team out of Spring Training and asked to be traded. the Bucs sold him to Detroit. Didn't even get a player in return.Bobster wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 11:27 pmI remember Jim Price very well and was surprised yesterday to learn he never played with the Pirates.
