The Dbacks optioned him to AAA. At least he's getting a chance.

The Dbacks optioned him to AAA. At least he's getting a chance.

I hope he makes the best of it and does well with Arizona. I think the Pirates are better off with the guys who are still here.

Checked in today to see how Gregory Polanco is doing in Japan. Batting average of .208 and 11 HR's and 104 strike-outs in 338 ab's. Also has 14 stolen bases. He is still only 30 years old.

Those were his 2021 Pirate stats. This year he's hitting .276, 8 HRs and 2 SBs in Japan.

I don't see any indication that Dovydas Neverauskas is playing anywhere this year. He played for 2 Japanese teams last year and had a combined 5.70 ERA with WHIP of 1.734. In 36.1 IP he gave up 32 hits and 31 walks. So I guess he's improving.
