I remember how dominant he was in the 2013 Wildcard game against Johnny Cueto and the Reds.
He was a rookie phenom for the Twins in 2006 before injuring his arm and getting TJS. It wasn't until he joined the Pirates in 2013 that he began to resemble the pitcher he was back in 2006.

I would say that Liriano and others reclaimed Searage.

Searage had success helping veterans regain the success they had previously enjoyed. But he didn't seem to have much success helping young pitchers develop.

I read his article- It seems that he just wants to move on.
I just saw that Hanrahan is joining the Nationals as their Low A pitching coach. I am a little surprised because he was in AAA with the Pirates last season. From what I read money was not a reason for him leaving the organization. He might be promised a MLB coaching job by the Nats in the next year or two which possibly the Pirates could not promise.

I consider that a fair and accurate assessment.



Seems as though his alarm clock rang and that was it.



I tend to agree with your past thoughts on pitching coaches.



Probably applies to a lot of hitting coaches, too, I would think.
