2018 was the only year in Crick's professional career where walks were not a major problem. As bad as his walk rate is in the majors (5.1 per 9 IP) it's even worse in the minors (5.9). He just can't control that sweeping breaking ball, and bringing in a reliever who immediately puts runners on base before they even get a hit is a recipe for disaster. He needs to stop relying on that pitch and get ahead of hitters so that he can then get them to chase it with 2 strikes. But he so often throws that pitch outside and in the dirt that batters just wait him out and take their walk. Maybe a new organization can help him. But he probably needs to learn a new pitch.

I remember how dominant he was in the 2013 Wildcard game against Johnny Cueto and the Reds.

Been to games at Forbes, 3 Rivers and PNC , and the Wildcard game had to have been the most exciting game I ever attended.
