I don't know about that.  When Huntington was fired, Nutting issued this statement:  "While Neal made many significant contributions to the organization, we did not accomplish our goal of making more money.  Consequently, we have mutually agreed to allow new leadership to head Baseball operations."  It's just a wee subtle difference.
Headline in todays PG- Pirates optimistic that Polanco will be cleared for Spring Training. When is that OPTIMISTIC?

I saw that and cringed.  I don't want him to play a single inning but I know that's not the right thing to wish for.  He has to play and do really well so some sap GM will take him off BCs's hands.  I'm going to be his biggest fan until that happens. It won't be easy for me.

Pitchers and catchers report on Saturday. I wonder when our GM will report?

A report in the Post-Gazette this morning says that MLB has decided to bring back both seven inning doubleheaders and starting extra inning games with a runner at second base.  Idiots!

However, in a fit of common sense rarely seen, the DH will not be brought back to the NL in 2021.

Once again I'll be tuning out after 9 innings. That gift runner at 2B is not baseball.

No it is not. And bit by bit the owners continue to erode my interest in the entity I've loved longer than anything in my life.

I can see some of the write ups on obscure player pick ups: "He can't field, hit, or pitch, but he has excellent potential as a ghost runner"

Maybe this could be Pedro Alvarez's ticket back to the majors. He was always a heckuva base runner.
