I am glad that Owings is gone. They didn’t need both he and Mathias on the Major League roster.

So glad to see Mathias patrolling RF. Palacios earned a day off after his HR. ::)

Not since the early 90's did I expect to win a series against an inferior team when BUCS are home. I really believe we smoke the 12 win A's. I said in first GDT against the Cards I had good feeling about this homestand. That said I expect underwhelming to return just not in your time frame.

Here's where it gets interesting. Davis is not hot. In his last 5 games he's hitting .158 (3 for 19). But Endy Rodriguez is red hot. In his last 5 games he's hitting .455 (10 for 22). They both catch. Why choose this time to have them share the position and cut down on playing time for both of them?
Or.....
Davis could be getting positioned to take over the catching for Indy when Rodriquez is moved up to the Pirates.

Davis could be getting positioned to take over the catching for Indy when Rodriquez is moved up to the Pirates. That’s what needs to happen and the Austin Hedges experiment needs to end here as well. It’s been long enough now almost 40 percent into the season with almost 100 games left now. Hedges is who he is and your not gonna wave some magic wand and Hedges is all of a sudden gonna be able to hit better or even play catcher better which he isn’t all that great at either. As for Davis if he tears up AAA let’s say these next 6-8 weeks I would strongly consider bringing him up here as well come mid August maybe sometime especially if the Pirates are still hanging around in the division and are in a playoff position like they currently are in now. This guy is a number 1 overall pick, he is gonna be 24 years old in September it’s time to bring him up and do it this year if Davis proves he can get the job done at AAA which there is no reason to believe that he can’t.
