He booted a ball that gave the runner an extra base. Literally, booted it as he kicked it to the center fielder.

After being released about a week prior, Niece is back with the Yankees on a minor league deal.

I guess it was contract related?

Nice mention of Rennie Stennett's birthday (his 66th) on Pardon the Interruption.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!
I've met Rennie a few times. Very smart guy. Probably could've been a pro tennis player.

Keon Broxton was beaned today. Face guard seemed to take the brunt but still scary.

Liriano had a bit of a tough outing... ::)

From Yahoo: Francisco Liriano was obliterated by the Rays in his season debut on Friday, surrendering five runs on three hits and four walks in only 1/3 of an inning.

Advice: It was the shortest start of the veteran southpaw's career. Liriano simply wasn't able to throw the ball over the plate, throwing just 12 strikes in his 34 pitches thrown. This unexpected disaster came after Liriano was dominant throughout the preseason. He'll try to somehow put this one behind him and get to work on lowering his 135.00 ERA when he takes on the Orioles at home on Thursday.

Was wondering when someone would put this up here.

He can, he just chooses not to. Once batters make him throw strikes, he gets in trouble.
