for all the analytics they do, the one pointing out Crowe is useless after the 7th inning should be proof positive Shelton is a stone cold idiot

This is going to turn out to be the worst loss of the year if they blow this one

Blown saves is another odd stat. We tend to think of a BS as a 9th inning event. But middle relivers get charged with them whenever they give up the lead even though those pitchers were never going to be allowed to pitch the 9th and get a save. I don't think a BS should be charged at least until the 8th inning. But most relievers who get charged with a BS would never have been around in the 9th to get the save anyway even if they hadn't given up the lead.

yes it is and there are no excuses. There is just no way that Crowe should have been in for the entire disaster of the bottom of the ninth.
