He’s never going to help the team win games over an extended time. There are several players on the 40-man who are better. He’s basically in the way. If that’s the case, what’s the point? The objective is to win. Why should we fans invest ourselves, our money, our time, if that’s the most we can ever expect? That’s not good enough for me, Surge. Let's face it, in reality, we're not hoping for a winning team, a playoff contender. We're just hoping to just make it to average.
When you have Cherington as GM, Shelton as mgr and Rabelo as 3B coach, poor decision making is guaranteed. But their gross incompetence is nothing new. Despite that, with just average defense, and common sense, this team would be 3-0. But man the defense and the decision-making is a disaster.
On a related note, I'm glad we are "winning the margins" this year.
