Bednar is working on a Ripkenesque streak of giving up runs.
He threw almost 40 pitches. That has to be the most he’s ever thrown in one game. Another game they could’ve won.

They just mentioned something along those lines on the post game. 13 runs scored with 2 outs this series.

Ouch! That’s the recipe for getting swept.

Oh well. After throwing 40 pitches we won't see Bednar for awhile.
Joey Bart continues to impress behind the plate. With the Playoffs
just about an impossibility we now have to look at certain Individuals
like Bart to give us that warm and fuzzy feeling . After the Padre Series
we will know for sure. With no Skenes until the Mariner Series, the bucs
could leave the West Coast 0-6.

An 0-6 could be on the horizon. It is not looking good right now. As you mentioned, I would like to see two individuals from Indy join the team. At the deadline they acquired Nick Yorke, and Billy Cook. They both have been hitting well this season, so let’s see if they are more than AAA players. The season is actually over, so give them a chance.

I hope someone asks Shelton about why he didn't send Chapman out for another inning.
It just seems to me if you are looking at extra innings on the road you may need to get two innings from pitchers that you like to have go one. Bednar threw 40 pitches so he wasn't going to go back for the 11th if game was still tied or if the Bucs had taken the lead in the top of the 11th.
Perhaps there is an easy answer, like Chapman never goes two innings anymore. last time he went more than one was???
He has averaged a little less than one inning an appearance for his career and hasn't pitched 60 innings in a season since 2015. He did have 58 in regular season last year and another 7 in the post season.

Lost in the loss, Andrew McCutchen became the 5th player in Pirates history to have 600 extra base hits with the team. He joins Stargell, Wagner, Paul Waner, and Clemente.

Wonder what his numbers would have been if he had spent all his time with the Bucs?
