Game Day Thread 5/27/2021 Cubs (26-22) vs. Pirates (18-30)

Here we are again. The laughing stock of the league. Instead of people pointing the finger at ownership and the front office, they're pointing and laughing at the boys put in the position to represent us.

Will Craig has played 15 total MLB games. The guy was a third baseman. He has NO STRATEGY playing First. Why is he in this position? Bob Nutting doesn't value baseball, the Pirates, or the city of Pittsburgh. He doesn't care how the city is represented- he doesn't live in the city or the state. He doesn't care about baseball. He doesn't interact with fans, nor does he sit in the stands. He sits in his ivory tower suite counting his money because he is afraid of his own fanbase.

We have to come to a point where we stop pointing and laughing at players that shouldn't even be playing in the Majors. (Moran and Evans are out, but there has to be a next man up with a strategy at the position.) If a six-year-old is driving a car, you don't point and laugh at the situation. You rip them out of the car, and lecture the adult in the car that handed the kid the keys and said "drive."

A six year old would know to just go tag the bag.

Craig played both 3B and 1B in college. He played 3B in his first professional season in 2016. That was 46 games. The following year he was moved to 1B and played 1B exclusively in the minors in 2017 and 2018. He remained primarily a 1Bman in 2019 while also playing some OF. Since his first pro season of 2016 he has played only 1 more game at 3B and a total of 333 games including 2,870 innings at 1B. Since 2017 he has been a first baseman.

So the "he's a 3Bman and has no strategy at 1B" excuse is completely false. If ownership and the front office can't put a first baseman at first base then what is Craig doing in the organization?

No matter how badly I F up, I can always point back.

May 27th should be a new national holiday.  Will Craig Day!  Everybody gets to screw up.

I like your suggestion but does that also a day when Pooplanco hit 2 dingers & drives in 6 runs and makes Shelty and BC think about picking up his 2022 contract option? We can call it "Shelty & BC screw up with Pooplanco Contract Day" I think shedman would love that! :D :D :D :D
