After reading about the game( only watched 3 innings) It seems
the loss began when Chavis booted a routine grounder which led to Arizona's first run. Good job Shelton!

The Pirates now have 3 players above .250 and Jason Delay's .268 leads the team. Pretty sad. The BAs for the 13 position players:
Delay .268
Newman .267
Reynolds .259
Chavis .250
Hayes .245
Gamel .244
Marcano .236
Cruz .204
Mitchell .204
Madris .198
VanNothing .181
Allen .158
Godoy .000
They are last in the NL in runs, hits, doubles, RBIs, BA, OBP, SLG and total bases. They're even last in total HBP. Opposing pitchers aren't even worried enough about them to pitch inside. They're also last in sac flies. They can't even fly out deep enough with a runner on 3B. The only area where they rank high is CS where they have had the 2nd highest number of runners caught stealing. Between hits, walks and HBPs, the Pirates have had the fewest runners reach base in the NL and the 2nd highest number erased stealing. Their SB success rate of 67% is next to last in the NL. They've scored 2 or less runs in 48 of 109 games (44%).

The Goday watch is on. Will he get a hit before he is released and replaced by another waiver wire catcher?

WOW!!!!
Thanks for the research on these facts
It’s hard to believe that any team can be this inept
Makes me question my intelligence in continuing to give my allegiance to this team. This is like being a 1962 Mets fan

My wife has been questioning my intelligence for quite some time.
