Dang, hurt to watch that called third strike on Allen. Castro is far from perfect, but, that guy goes to the plate to hit. I felt the same about Peugero when he was here. Their kind of like Manny or Rennie—-swing the damn bat.

Cruz has been up for a couple of months now and he has faced many left handlers yet he continues to be an automatic strikeout for any pitch that is low and away. It’s time for him to start making adjustments and lay off those pitches. We don’t need another Dave Kingman. Just my observation but it looks like he stands too far away from the plate and then lunges to reach the outside pitches

Just platoon Cruz against lefties for the time being, until he figures it out. We did the same with Van Slyke when we got him from the Cards. I guess we need to get good coaches first in order for that to happen, but you get the idea.
