In Castro's 254 career MLB at bats, he has hit 12 HR and has 21 RBIs. Think about that -- he has 21 RBIs and 12 have been himself -- that may be some kind of record. And extrapolated over 500 at bats, that is 42 RBI. Not placing particular blame on Castro, but those numbers would not likely be found in a healthier lineup.

On the Cruz HR, I think the always pandering, star-struck Greg Brown heaped more praise on Matt Capps for suggesting Romero was a good matchup for Cruz than on Cruz for actually hitting the HR.



But Cruz seems really locked in right now. Great to see. 3 weeks ago he was hitting .197 and essentially maintaining it. Since August 27 he's hitting .352 (19 for 54) and 10 of those 19 hits have been for extra bases.
