Unbelievable. This has been a really difficult season to be a Pirates fan.

You just knew the imbecile was absolutely not going to allow Wilson to get a CG shutout to boost his confidence. He had thrown only 90 pitches and only one Red had any hits against him and wasn't due up. So he did the Reds a huge favor. There cannot be a worse manager/coach in all of professional sports.

Brown was saying the Pirates have the longest streak of games without a CG at 329. That's over 2 seasons worth of games. But it's not because no pitcher could do it. It's because the idiot manager would rather lose a game than take a chance that his starter could pitch a CG.

Newman wins it in the 10th with a two out single. After winning the game once through eight innings, it's a nice thing to suck it up and win it a second time. Great sweep.

If this were earlier in the season, I have no problem with sending a RP out. But 90 pitches and probably his last start of the season, WTF?

Regardless, DeJong should have been able to close this one out with his eyes closed. He's just like Crowe. He's not a closer.

Yes it is nice to win a few games to possibly build some confidence.

But did the Pirates have to win 7 games in a row against the Reds!

The Reds now only have a 1 game lead on the Pirates. If the Pirates overtake the Reds they will drop to 4th in next years draft.

Since next years draft is a lottery, the 3 worst teams record wise have the highest odds to get the Number 1. Odds drop after that

Maybe that's why Shelton made the pitching change!

We have the Cardinals the last 6 games, we will be lucky to win 1 of those 6, so don't worry about us catching the Reds in the standings.
