One of the sports card hobby’s most sought-after modern cards came to light Tuesday.
The 2024 Topps Chrome Update Rookie Debut Patch one-of-one autographed card for Pittsburgh Pirates phenom pitcher Paul Skenes was pulled by an 11-year-old collector in Los Angeles, the card company announced via social media.
The Pirates offered the kid something for it. Paul's girlfriend offered the kid a chance to sit with her during a game in an effort to get card back. I'm pretty sure I'd hand that card over no problem.

Just read where Skenes said he is working on two new pitches.
I think that gives him 8

I wish the owner worked as hard and cared about improving as much as Skenes does.

I feel bad for Skenes. He's made some optimistic comments about the team wanting to win this year but he sees what we see. He sees bad managing, bad coaching, bad fundamentals, bad defense, bad hitting. He's gotta be counting the days until he can get out and go to a real team.
