This is very true. So many of management’s decisions, the way the organization is operated, isn’t just known by fans in Pittsburgh. Everyone in baseball can see what’s being done, and the subsequent results of their decisions. Why would anyone who wants to win come here, either to work in management or to play on the field?

By 2015, the org was moving in the right direction. But one man didn’t like it. It meant more risk on his part. So he put the brakes on, stopped the progress, and we’re back to being one of the few places anyone with anything to offer wants to avoid. One guy has caused this.
