Since they acquired Cook at the deadline I have continued to follow how he and Yorke have been performing. Yesterday Cook really had a game which was really impressive. The throw from right field and scoring from first on the single from IKA was eye opening. I think during his first week he has two outfield assists. I just hope his bat catches up with his defense, because if so the Bucs found themselves a ball player.

After getting 3 hits last night, Shelton said regarding Yorke, we think he is going to be part of
Our future. Let's just hope Shelton won't be part of his.

It is only 27 at bats but Cook has struck out 12 times. I am a little concerned with him not making as much contact. I like his overall playing ability, but he has to cut down on the strikeouts.

I know they say don’t get too excited over March and September stats, but both these players seem very intriguing. The Pirates still need to acquire another bat or two this offseason, but these two players appear they have a chance to make the Opening Day Roster. Let’s hope their success continues.

Cook and York better step up with the bats. Hayes ,Gonzales,Triolo, and the Other Cruz should all be bench guys next season or traded in Hayes case.Glad to see Nick getting to play SS that IKF guy is overrated.

I have to differ with you about Gonzales being a bench player next year. I think he has had a good season, and I feel they really missed him when he hit the IL in late July. He has shown a lot of improvement since last season.
