I would have preferred Braden Montgomery
Hopefully Griffin will reach his potential as an OF not SS and work out his hitting questions. They say he has the highest upside in the draft.

Geez, I didn't even want to look at the HS Players. Could be ready in 3-4 seasons. It`s a solid pick but wanted something closer. Still early and hitters can be found anywhere. Lets Go BC

The panel felt it was a very good pick. It was said that the Red Sox wanted him. 3-4 years. Hope that I am still
around to see it

Pick #37 - RHP Levi Sterling

"Sterling stands out as one of the more polished and projectable arms in the high school class. His fastball reaches 94 mph, he exhibits good feel for spinning both a curveball and changeup, and he can miss bats with his changeup as well." - MLB.com
Pick #47 - SS Wyatt Sanford

Father (Chance) was a 1992 Pirates draft pick (27th round) and made it to the big league.

Pirates could have drafted #21 rated Tommy White who was Skene’s team mate at LSU and a big power hitter who played 3B and was projected at 1B. Instead we pick 2 more HS players.
A pitcher at 37 and yet another SS at 47.
BC: I thought we were going for college players that could help us in the next couple of years. Looks like he is getting ready for another 5 year plan

It will be interesting to see whether there's enough money in the lower slots to attract a high school player. There was a time when the money was tempting to them but today, with NIL money, it might be a lot easier topick college and go with that flow of cash instead and try to improve the draft position in three years.
