Pirates get the lead and Nicolas tries to give it right back.

We've seen this act from NiKolas before. Shelton has to pull him.
And he does. Can't fault Bruihl if he gives up any runs. Nikolas has been quite disappointing so far. He has to just get his pitches in the zone, I don't know why he tries fooling batters and painting corners. He just needs to trust his stuff and get it in the zone. The moment that guy got a hit that just eludes Gonzo, he starts falling to pieces.

If we can get out of it just tied, I'd be happy

I already know what Shelton is going to say, but we all know there was no reason to take Jones out.
I just wish he'd say, "We had a limit, and that's that." We're going to here Shelton speak though about high leverage this, and effort that.

Man, Davis has been having a rough day behind the plate, not all his fault but he certainly isn't picking them.
IBB now to load them back up

Bruihl limits the damage to a sac fly to tie the game up.
Terrible managing by Shelton IMHO, but also just plain bad performance by Nikolas.
Now I"m wondering how they negotiate the rest of the game with the bullpen. Ortiz is certainly out. Would he use Holderman and Bednar 3 games in a row? Certaily Chapman is in play. Stratton only threw 3 pitches yesterday. That leaves Heller also. I guess Mlodzinski could go, he threw 18 pitches as the opener yesterday.

Gonzales and Tellez with back to back singles to start the 6th. Let's get another crooked number. Need Suwinski and Davis to show up today if Triolo can do something here.

Triolo flies out, can't advance the runners.
You almost feel like if he didn't get someone in, we're moving the to 7th.
Come on Jack, be the man

Suwinski can't come through again. I honeslty don't know what you do with CF right now, but Taylor did get a hit and an RBI yesterday, he's not exactly a hot hand either.
