Rivas seems to be getting a lot of playing time. Since being acquired on August 1, the starts at 1B are:
Rivas 25
Joe 20
Triolo 2

It must be because of Rivas' impressive splits. He's a LH hitter batting .207 vs RHP and .167 vs LHP. Even Joe's weak .214 vs RHP would be better. But of course, it's still spring training so results don't matter and it's a chance to throw some guys out there and see what they can or cannot do.
