People said that if the Bucs did not handle Skenes right he could end up like Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals. Strausburg just announced his retirement today per MLBTRs.
Hard to believe Strasberg has been around for 13 years. But injuries limited him.

I'll never forget watching his MLB debut against the Bucs. 6 innings and 14 Ks. They young man could sling the ball.

That Pirates team (57-105) was so bad, he had probably faced better teams in the minors. Smart move by the Nats to make the Bucs his MLB debut.

Not sure what you mean by this.
You don't need to understand Surg, all you need to do is keep up the "anti-jinx" you have going. Dave says not to confuse you!

Strausburg threw his arm out to the point that after 2 TJ surgeries, he was through not being able to pitch much the last 5 seasons. Skenes throughs hard line Strasburg and that's why.

I know what happened to him. I'm not sure if the blame is being placed on the Nats, which is what I'm thinking is being said when people talk about how the Pirates "handle" Skenes. His arm just didn't hold up. I think he only had one TJ, he had thoracic outlet surgery is what ended his career. How he was handled had nothing to do with those things.
