That may be true, but I doubt there is a team in baseball that wouldn't want him in their rotation. If we DFAd him today, there would be 29 other teams lining up to put a claim in for him.

Of course. He's important to the team because of the ability he's shown previously. If he has another bad year, it will really hurt the team. The Pirates badly need him to do well. It's absurd to think about releasing him and obviously he would be picked up immediately. But not because of how he's pitched since 2016. The Bucs are counting heavily on him becoming good again. But he hasn't been consistently good since 2015. It's hardly an overreaction to simply point that out.

Fair enough. I can agree with that.

What's also not an overreaction is that bastardo needs to be gone. Just get ride of him and eat the salary.

Sorry Aaron, you can pull sabermetrics out your whazoo but if you think Cole was good last year and in these 2 games, you're kidding yourself. If you disagree with me that's fine. I don't think we know yet but so far this year and last not impressed. Hope he turns it around but that is very much up in the air right now. I am certainly not impressed at this point, could very well have to put him in bullpen if this stuff keeps happening, he might make a great closer.
