That play was Cole's fault

Bell cut Frazier off. Once he saw Cole go for the ball, he had to get to the bag. Frazier was there too. Bell barely got to the ball and did a glove flip.

Cole was to go straight to the bag on that play, unless you know more about the play than Bob Walk.

But Stew is 2 for 2

He just needs to do something with a guy on base.

No words to describe the disappointment and frustration of Cole.

He gives up another 1st inning run, the bats spot him a 3-1 lead and he gives it up. Just inexcusable for a guy who wants to be THE GUY.

and now he strikes out bunting. >:(

And because Cole couldn't get a bunt down, we lose a run

I wonder how the other teams discuss Cole prior to facing him. I'm guessing they warn their hitters that he can be dominating but don't be intimidated because it's just as likely that he can be awful.

Stew had his chance, we set him up perfectly. But no go

Hey, I think I'll go on the stationary bike for awhile and watch some hockey reruns from last season

I guess so. It wasn't like Bell fielded the ball and had a clean flip to first. After Cole missed it, Bell went for the ball. If Bell stays put, after Cole misses it! Frazier makes that play. The mental error all around led to a physical error.

Gee, I'm sure glad we had our ace going tonight against the 2nd worst team in the NL and even after he gave up yet another HR--to the first batter of the game--he still benefited from a 3-run 1st. So he ends up with 10 hits and 7 runs in just 5.1 innings. Oh well, I guess even great pitchers have an occasional bad game. Like Cole did on 4/3, 5/22, 5/27. 6/2, 6/8 and 6/30. I've seen enough. I hope they trade him tomorrow.

Excellent idea. This team is too frustrating to watch. So joyful to watch the Pens...so painful to watch the Bucs!

I wouldn't mind if they released the entire bullpen with the exception of Rivero!
