Okay, let's talk odds again.

What are the odds the Pirates bullpen can bridge together 9 outs and get this game to Rivero in the 9th inning with a 5-4 lead? (I'm assuming we won't score again).

I'd say 25:1. In other words, it ain't happening.

Just got home and only saw one at bat before the delay. But the review of the stats is disappointing ---seems like the pitchers are getting hit way too easily. I am sure there are numerous factors, but I wonder if predictably is a big one? It seems like opposing hitters know what's coming. Perhaps the staff needs a thorough review the game plan --- pitch selection, sequencing, locationing, etc. For the past month or more Trevor Williams seems like he is truly "pitching" while some of the other starters are just power "throwing". Not a surprise his stats look better over that period of time.

They're back with Schugel on the mound.

I would feel more comfortable with a couple additional runs. Holding the Cards scoreless for four innings will be tough.

Especially with Benoit pitching the 7th. A single and hit batter don't give me any extra confidence bb

I don't have alot of faith in Benoit. I don't like how this inning is going.

Your lack of faith is rewarded.

I really though the bullpen would be good this year.

Benoit needs to be cut as soon as tomorrow. He is washed up.

... and the Benoit nightmare continues. Schugel has a 1.56 ERA but is not allowed to pitch more than 1 inning even if that means bringing in the horrible Benoit. As Hurdle well knows, following a formula is so much more important than winning a game. I am just so disgusted with Hurdle this year. He seems to have no interest in actually winning. He sticks to his formulas, whether it's pitching changes or resting players even if it is completely illogical and counterproductive. It's bad enough the owner is too cheap to improve the roster but then we have the incompetent Hurdle who seems to get the least out of what he's given.

How is it that Benoit finds himself in a Pirate uniform?

And why exactly did Clint decide to give him the ball?

And does anyone think Cutch will be a target next inning?
