Glad to hear Freese let the organization have it. His comments ripped Nutting as well. He said a lot today. Good for him!

If this is true, I take back my post about him being a good, positive veteran presence in the clubhouse.  It also seems to be some kind of agenda by the media asking all these negative questions.  It's certainly working to get the fans against the organization.  Is it enough to get Nutting to sell?  That has to be the agenda, right?

He had reasons and took some blame.  He also can be a man in that clubhouse to turn around that energy.  I liked how he said how everyone can do better and gave praise to the young guys saying they can be stars.

Sometimes I wonder if there re two different people posting from Dog's account.

If you just hear "he ripped the team" instead of seeing the exact words, of course your opinion can change. Geez.

His comments are a direct indictment of Hurdle and his lack of taking every Game seriously and that Hurdle doesn’t demand enough out of that or do enough for the players in the clubhouse. The 10-2 laughing comment about the Cubs says a lot about what Freese thinks of Hurdle, and the analytic comment is a swipe at Huntington as well. I’m glad he said what he said as well. Somebody needs to have some balls on this team and tell it like it is and this was simply brilliant.

If you're saying it's a good idea to actually read/hear someone's comments before automatically saying that player should be cut because they allegedly spoke out against the BMTIB, I agree with you Sammy.

With this story it’s one more cat out of the bag. We all know ownership sucks, office management sucks, and field management sucks. Why should we be surprised attitude sucks?

But these comments really hurt me. All throughout history teams have been burdened with crappy or underfunded ownership. But lack of dollars doesn’t mean you shouldn’t show up and give it your all each and every day. That goes for both coaches and players. Heck, even if Pirates were the cheapest team in baseball, to most fans this team is comprised of 25 lottery winners. And probably 10 more if you count the coaches.

We all played this game for free as kids. We played hard because we were competitive and had self-pride. I would never want someone to watch me play and say I wasn’t prepared or didn’t play hard.

I love the Pirates and always will. But the moment players make comments like these about their coaches and themselves, it tells you the system has failed.

Although it hurts to hear or read, I am glad Freese spoke up. It is part of a quality control process that is needed and clearly lacking.

Holy Heck!!!!  David Freese just said it all!!!  Well Mr. Freese.  You have just sold 1 ticket.  I will buy one ticket this season and I am willing to do that SOLELY based on the fact that David Freese has spoken real, honest, hard core truth!!!

Well I can't speak to that, and I've certainly been guilty of jumping to conclusions myself.

But I've been thinking about the Freese interview. It's telling to me that he signed that longer term deal after being here a while. Now I suppose one could take the cynical route and decide he was just contract hunting. I think that he is just airing some concerns, yet at the same time he must not believe that the atmosphere is absolutely toxic beyond repair.

Or, when you cut out the very first line of someone's comments to fit your agenda. Don't forget that you have changed my posts before and said it was a quote by me.

It is also teams like the Pirates that sign players like Freese. He was signed a few weeks before the season started as he had no job. Not only did they sign him, they signed him to start too.
