Serpico homers to finally get this offense going gives the Bucs a 2-1 lead.

Moroff doubles in Diaz makes it 3-1. Nice to see the guys coming off the bench contributing. All with 2 outs in the 4th.

You got to like the bench. No more dreading the "Sunday Line Up".

The P-G article made a lot of sense in that Corey Dickerson played so many games at DH last year that you probably don't want to run him out there every day.

Looking like a good way to end this series with a nice convincing win before heading to Philadelphia. I said a week ago if the Bucs could finish this month with an 18-11 record going into May that would be great. Just need to go 6-5 the rest of this month to do that if they can hang on today.

What was their point? Not to play him so much? He is playing the best defense he ever has and is hitting. It seems to me that he shouldn't have be DH'ing.

Yea I agree I think they will be fine playing him most nights. I don’t want Hurdle to start this crap too much of resting his best players every week especially if this team is in 1st place and remains in contention for a lot of the season. There is no need to do it play these guys especially in important games where you can sweep series and can get you that extra win or two in a season

that might end up making a big difference at seasons end.

I have been impressed with the use of the bench so far this year. Not many double switches. No defensive replacements. The main line up has been in most nights. The games the bench has played, they have done well. So far so good with the use of the bench by Hurdle.

I think their fear is not so much the defense but that he'll break down (like Jaso did) because he hasn't put a lot of miles on the tires the past few years. Akin to ramping up inning counts year to year for pitchers. Who knows if they are right but it makes a certain amount of sense.
