I'm fearing the beard. I bet t-shirts are being made somewhere: Fear the Beard.

I wish people would get on the Moran train instead of trying to justify the Cole trade.

Maybe if we can steer clear of four game series

I wish he could field and run and turn double plays effectively and hit for more power.   Wish he would pull more.

Wouldnt trying to "justify" the Cole trade, be you?   Moran may be a good starting 3bman, but I doubt it.  I also question his work ethic, at 6'4" 205.   Hes too thin and boney. I'm confused how a pro athlete can not fill himself out better.

But after that big HR last night, his numbers look OK again for his poor defense.  Prior to that, they were fading due to the BAbip and LD% normalizing.    Maybe he can do it!

Now, he is too skinny?  I think you are getting my point.

I am going to watch the rookie play and see if he can do it.  I won't judge a player on his personal appearance.

Moran is hitting and fielding better than Alex Bregman.  Moran has scored more runs too (less at bats).  It will be fun to watch those two perform to see if the Astros traded the right guy.

*He was listed at 6'3" 180 lbs in college when he was drafted.

Absolutely he's too skinny. He's not athletic. Slow and skinny, not agile.    Just additional bricks in the wall of unlikely starting success.

I get your point better than anyone else here, I promise you that.   Your point is always the same.    You cannot help yourself to criticize fans and imply or outright claim that they're rooting against this team in hopes that NH looks bad.

This org is building around likely sub-par players at the infield corners.  If Moran finds the power he was showing in AAA last year, it changes the ballgame for him. So far, all that "launch angle" stuff hasn't held true yet this year.

Amongst rookies in the NL, he is one or two in Ave, OBP, OPS, WAR, Slug, RBIs. Top 5 in other categories too.

We have to knock his appearance since he is performing on the field. Sorry, its a little crazy to me and uncalled for in my opinion.

If Cole wasn't doing so well for the Astros, do you think these comments would have been made? I sure don't.

He has an .800 OPS in a plenty big enough sample size.

His LD% is good and his HR/FB ratio is on the lower side. There's room for more power to show.

I'm certainly not sold on Moran and I hate his beard and looks period. What ever happen to dressing for success, he isn't helping himself with fans/career with his look, plain and simple. Say what you will about the Yankee's but I like there facial hair policy, MLB would do well to adopt at least a minimum policy, of course never would happen with players union.

Moran certainly has a long way to go to even get close to a decent return for Cole.

Had you dipped that measuring stick into the water prior to the home run, the results would have been quite a  different.  "Among rookies" is a weasal measurement anyway.   Means almost nothing.  When rookies are 25-26-27, you cannot always assume growth. How many times does Polanco, or Frazier, or Bell have to happen before that becomes reasonable.

I don't care at all about his appearance.  Beard, no beard, no problem.   I do care that hes unathletic and 25, and a beanpole. I care that he's a poor defender with no range or agility.   I care that his slowlness on his release is costing double plays.   I do care that his BABIP and LD% are unsustainable and believe when that normalizes he's likely a dud.    I do care that he's behind the ball too much.  I do care that his exit velocity sucks.   There are significant flags.  I don't care if you're offended and I certainly don't care if you disagree.

Im guessing  he wont be a good starting 3bman.   Just like Bell won't be a good starting 1bman unless we get lucky and he turns into a masher

Yes, you can't deny the fact that he is a rookie. You also said age doesn't matter. I guess it matters for Moran? You do care about his appearance as you questioned his work ethic. Moran is having a fine season so far. Not sure how people can deny that.

Where was your "Bell isn't a starting 1B" last year? 35 games in 2018 changed your mind?
