It looks like we are higher on Tucker than the national places.
I am surprised Tucker did not make either list. I think when he arrives in the Big Leagues he will hit about.280 and play a steady defense.

I surely hope Tucker is the real deal, as we lack a SS. I just don't feel all that warm and fuzzy about Erik Gonzalez. He may pan out...Then again with what I have read, he sure is not a patient hitter. The front office continues to give we fans so little hope....If only Nutting would sell the team to a "baseball fan" owner...Nutting is not a baseball fan, I just see him all about shooting skeet and playing tennis at the country club. His absence at PirateFest spoke so loudly... :(.

one of the things that gives me pause about Gonzalez is that supposedly the pitcher is a good prospect. Unless Moroff and/or Luplow are a lot better than they appeared to be with Bucs, the team didn't give up a lot to get these guys.

The pitcher is Tahnaj Thomas, a 19 year old whose pro experience thus far is basically the AZ Fall League where he struggled with ERA and walks. So it's difficult at that early stage to be considered a good prospect. Time will tell. Most teams would consider this a very minor deal involving 2 marginal players for a utility infielder and a raw teenage pitching prospect. But for the Pirates, it's a big deal in which they acquired their starting SS. The bar is pretty low for TBMTIB. :(
