I'm ok with it. If Iglesias had driven in a run with 2 outs and the pitcher on deck, we'd be complaining about not giving the intentional walk.

Lyles has a 1-2-3 3rd on 9 pitches. But that involved a long drive to left center run down by Shuck and a drive to center that Marte caught leaping against the fence. Starting to rain.

In the 4th, Newman bobbles the first ball hit to him but recovers to throw out the runner. Scoreless 4th.

Gee, bad baserunning. Whoddu thunk? Bell gets a ground single thru the middle and Cabrera hits one down the LF line. Bell goes to 3B but Cabrera is an easy 3rd out trying to stretch it into a double.

Lyles whiffs Votto to end a scoreless 5th. Newman smoothly handled his only chance, charging a slow roller and throwing the runner out.

Kingham starts the 6th.

The starting pitching has been very solid these first 5 games. They have done a great job allowing the Pirates to win each of the games they have played. The offense once again tonight continues to do nothing.

Cabrera gets a 1 out single in the 6th (his 3rd hit), Reyes pinch runs and Hurdle puts on the hit & run. Shuck singles to moves Reyes to 3B. Good for Hurdle!

Newman gets jammed, fights it off for a slow roller to 1B. He's out but Reyes scores. 1-0.

Cabrera has done a nice job hitting the ball and getting on base

this first week of the season. They are going to need him to continue to do so now with Dickerson out for a month as Cabrera is going to see plenty of playing time.
