Looks like Taillon took a liner off the head by Rizzo, he finished the inning. Then was pinch-hit for in the top of the 3rd as a precaution. Yikes. Hope he is okay.

Well, that was ugly. You had to figure the Cubs were due to wake up. You just would hope the Pirates wouldn't give them so much help.

Moran botches another routine play. That's now 3 errors in 17 innings at 3B this season. We hoped for improvement over his dismal defense last season but it's no better and now probably even worse. And Newman was a disaster today.

Moran made 10 errors in over 900 innings at third last year which isn't great for someone with his range and the way errors are scored these days.

For him to be any sort of valuable player his ops has to be over 800. He was close to that against right handed pitchers last year so there is some hope for him as a platoon player.

We should know before this season is over if he is going to make it.
