Didn’t Frazier play a few games in centerfield last year ? He did a decent job when out there. He is not Marte, but he was not over matched when he played center.

they must have a plan. I expected it to be Luplow. Gonzalez played 10 innings in center at Columbus in 2016. So he is unlikely the back up.

Reyes has started 53 games in center in the minors.

Bucs Dugout has an article this morning noting two players the Pirates have apparently shown some interest in - Lonnie Chisenhall and Brandon Guyer. Not sure they settle on anyone we hear of in advance, but at least they appear to actually be looking for someone, and most likely someone on a one-year deal

And Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I hope the Front Office does better than Chisenhall and Guyer...

According to MLB Trade Rumors Dietrich cleared waivers and is now a free agent. I wonder if the Bucs will contact his agent with a proposal.

With the news of the Chisenhall signing I doubt the Bucs will now pursue Dietrich.

At best that I can see Dietrich is still out on the free agent market. As the time gets closer to ST I would guess that it would not break the bank to sign him on a one year contract. He would be a good player to start a few days a week, and be a very good pinch hitter. It boggles my mind that the Bucs don’t sign guys like this, because their cost would be minimal towards their budget.

Just saw that the Reds signed Dietrich for a little over 2 million dollars. He hit 16 homers for the Marlins last season, and that may increase to 20 or greater this season in Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. I hope the Bucs can at least win one of the first three in the opening weekend series. The Reds are going to be a very offensive team!
