The Pirates are a combined 2-13 against the Dodgers, DBacks, and Rockies so far this season which is just horrific. I’m with a lot of you as far as Marte goes I have seen enough of these mental lapses and careless play night on and night out. That crap was supposed to stop with Marte this season we were told and it seems like it’s worse then ever now. I seriously wouldn’t mind if they started shopping Marte now and got what they could for him. He is gonna be 31 in October and the guy is a dunce and I am just tired of his laziness. Another important game for the Pirates tomorrow with Archer on the mound to avoid a sweep and pretty much giving back everything the Pirates gained on their 7-4 road trip. I have no confidence at all in Archer to step up and pitch well in this game. I hope I’m wrong.

Been listening to the local Pgh Sports talk shows and most of them think Marte is too valuable to the Bucs simply based on his defense. But I am beginning to wonder. Twice in the recent days Marte has lost track of the # or outs in an inning. While he has the tools to be a really good player his mind is not so toolsy. Unfortunately, if they dealt him the fans might be in an uproar especially if they only got a bag of jelly beans for him as has been the MO of TBMTIB.

When I see someone playing the game the way Marte currently is, I can only believe he wants out. He seems annoyed and not even willing to try. Not even willing to pay attention. On Friday there were 4 balls to CF that he didn't seem interested in. Recently he forgot how many outs there were while he was on the bases. Last night he forgot while he was in the field. And last night he pathetically struck out in the first inning on what was nearly a wild pitch when it left Ryu's hand. It looked like Marte was annoyed that he had to play and simply took that opportunity to K and end his AB. With Dickerson close to returning, Reynolds and Cabrera hitting and Polanco in RF, I would eliminate the problem child and move Marte ASAP.

I do get the sense that he's tired of it all and would like to move on. The Mets are looking for an outfielder. Keeping in mind that no one will offer a good pitcher for him (or anyone), who do the Mets have who could step into the rotation and be a help?
