My point(s):
1) It’s a damn shame that the only national conversation about the Pirates is peeling off the few decent players to the teams that are serious.
2) For the most part, we make really bad trade decisions.
If trading V was part of a serious strategic move to build out a legitimate run for a WS, to include increasing payroll to AT LEAST the “small mkt” average, then I’m all for it. But the only strategy for the Pirates involves fielding a team for the least amount possible. That makes this or any other trade part of the mandatory rules of serving as MLB’s farm system.
