I think just four Pirate teams have gone 7-28 or worse:  1890, 1952, 1985, and 2010. Edit: also the 1884 American Association club.

Kela has done well since coming back.

Could I have found a bright spot or is it just small sample size conincidence?

And we have our first casualty of the predictions contest. The winner will not be Thomas Evans with his entry of 90-72. :(

isn't looking good for matching last year's won loss record.

But since the team was only 2.5 back at All Star game NH can say this was another contending year.

The benefit of low standards and to think he went from competing for championships year in and year out with no window to what he says now.

Oh boy, that was a great line: we don’t have windows, we plan to compete every year.

The only good thing about tonight is that everybody “up top” got Humiliated, again. I love that.

Huntington said the other day to Greg Brown on his radio show that he sees a lot of similarities in this 2019 team going into 2020  to the 2012 team going into the 2013 team that won 94 games. Funny that I remember him saying the exact same thing last year that the 2018 team going into 2019 team reminded him of the 2012 team going into the 2013 season. So which one is it Neal you lying sack of you know what?? Can we please get rid of this GM and manager and clean house and just start over. Like how much more worse does this team have to be for guys to start losing their jobs. This team at this point has a very good chance of losing 100 games I feel. They have to win 12 more games to avoid losing 100 games and I think it’s going to be very very tough for them to do.

100 loses is a near certainty. The team doing nothing in the off season is an absolute certainty.

Therein lies our only hope: with labor negotiations looming and free agency taking a hit and the Pirates abusing the system, I’m hoping the players union literally make an example of the Pirates and a floor and ceiling are established for payroll.

Just a quick thought Ivan Nova is 5-0 the last month with a 0.85 era. And what did the Pirates dump him for?? He would look pretty good right now in the Pirates and the Pirates thought a salary dump for Nova and giving away a quality starting pitcher was more important. Another reason why Neal should be gone.

remember though that it is the fans fault. Attendance was down last year so payroll had to go down this year.

Nova's salary had to be eliminated so that Lyles and Chisenhall could be signed. (this is a tongue in cheek post but it is the way the Pirates operate).

But Nova stunk the first half of the season. By doing that with the Pirates he would have been run out of town on a rail by the fans including most of OBN.

The problem that occurred with Nova being gone is how BMTIBB spent his salary savings. Lyles & Chisenhall :poop:
