Good idea with one caveat. Moran is not worth the price of a beer at PNC. In other words, a team like the Bucs trying to trade a player of Moran's caliber aren't getting any type of real prospect or maybe a AAAA pitcher.

I'm truly surprised at this. Usually you don't give up on a player after one bad year, especially at a position of weakness.



This is the first move by Cherington that I would question. He's clearly not afraid to dump players that played a meaningful role in 2019 for little or no return. First Agrazal, now Diaz. Who would have thought this after 2018?

But I'll bet on Castro.

I can see Castro or Austin Romine. Caleb Joseph might be a kick the tires type of player.

With only a single catcher on the roster, I am sure Ben Cherington has spoken to an agent or another GM about acquiring someone. My guess by the time the Winter Meetings end next Thursday there will be another catcher on the 40 man roster.

This could be Colin Moran's chance. He might have average speed for a catcher.
