With the 8 signings today, and five of the players such as Marte, and Archer already signed for 2020 the total payroll to date is $47.5 million. If they move Marte their payroll will be about 36 million dollars. I wonder if the payroll will exceed $60 million this season.

It won't affect Bell's number this year, but I wonder how it affects internal discussions about trading him before he gets too "expensive" for Nutting's checkbook.
