Oh, this being 2019, I'm sure the Pirates can top this before we get to 2020.

At this point, a clubhouse-wide case of novovirus, E. coli, leprosy and cannibalism are all still left on my bingo card. PNC Park could (should?) be declared a Superfund site before the end of the year. Maybe the Pirate Parrot will start selling cocaine again. Cheese Chester could be arrested for exposing his pierogi. The FBI could discover the Russians are rigging our elections and blackmailing half the government by using Huntington's analytics database as a front. The state-of-the-art, out-of-town LED scoreboard could start randomly displaying porn. Worse yet, nobody would notice. An enraged fan could slip into the broadcast booth and finally give Joe Block the thrashing he deserves, which would lead to my the fan's arrest.

I don't think this wild ride's over yet.

I wonder if actual attendance tonight of Pirate fans will be zero.

Some Seattle fans may show up but it is hard to imagine many Pirate fans being interested in going.

The Vázquez situation is downright disgusting. As someone else wrote this team has hit rock bottom. This season could not end soon enough.

Normally it is not a good idea to link your name to a potential crime such as the thrashing of Joe Block, but in this case, the number of suspects is likely greater than the number of season ticket holders.

Loved your post. It brought a moment of levity to the serious and potentially career ending charges against Vasquez.

With respect to the charges:

1) I hope that the young girl involved in the molestation (too kind of word - the RAPE) receives all of the counseling she needs to try and mend the wrongs that Vasquez has inflicted upon her.

2) If the police have the evidence it appears that they have, I hope that Vasquez is soon brought to trial, that he is found guilty, and that his time in Pittsburgh is over.

Lastly, time for Kela to show that he has the chops to again be a closer.

I am posting this as there seems to be info about another court document in Westmoreland Co, PA saying that something happened with a young girl from my town of Scottdale. I have to watch this closely.

Vazquez Facing Additional Charges

Holy shit this is bad. Now two incidents and one of them involving a kid older than 11 but under 16 involved. Right in my back yard it seems. This is truly Vazquez living up to his nickname "Nightmare".

Unfortunate that that they didn't trade him at the trade deadline. Could have gotten 3 Dodger prospects. Can't blame the front office though. As they said in Spamalot, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Just saw in USA Today Sports that should Vazquez be convicted he could be deported once he serves his prison time.

Being deported would be like a death sentence for him due to the political unrest in Venezuela and the fact that he has loads of money.
