If Alford can turn into an Omar Moreno clone I would be thrilled. I did like his scoring from 3B last night on the short passed ball by Barnhart. A real heads up play.

I think we'd be thrilled if anyone could turn into an Omar Moreno clone! :D

Well, we do have that Tucker kid out there, who's Mike Trout, Bill Mazeroski, and Pete Rose rolled into one. That's almost as good as Omar, isn't it? ;)

Wonderful. We should get a castoff middle reliever and a suspect or two who may- or may not- ever see the light of day in a MLB uniform for him. ;)

It is a darn shame that Alford is having some pain when throwing. I figured he was going to begin the season as the starting center fielder. Hopefully he can recover soon, because due to injuries and being blocked by other players he has never been given the chance to be an everyday player. I would be interested to see what he could do given an extended playing time.

With you 100% on this, fjk. Last time I was in Bradenton for ST in 2019, I saw Alford hit a long homer for Toronto. I was thrilled when we picked him up!

I am sure they will place him on the DL if he is not ready to go come Opening Day. I don’t think they are going to give up on him until they get the chance to see what he can do over an extended period of time.

Nice to hear that Alford hit a home run today. Sure it is only a ST game, but I am hoping he will fully recover from his elbow injury, and get the chance to start in centerfield.

Alford is getting a start in centerfield in this afternoon’s game against the Yankees. Recently acquired Dustin Fowler will be the DH.
