I am beginning to wonder if Keller is the pitcher they think he is. It appears he is always having first inning problems.

Keller is not nor never will be a number 1 pitcher. Don't know who thought he was going to be the Pirate saviour but whoever did they should be fired.

I agree ,at this time I wouldn’t care if they sent him back to Indy. He might be one of these prospects who never makes it.
Keller was hit hard. The couple of homers were wind-blown, but he was still hit HARD.
Did not look good at all.
I know it's just one spring training outing, but I just wonder if he's another one of the endless string of Pirates who is ALLEGEDLY a stud and future superstar in the minors ... then as soon as he puts on the Pirates uniform he looks lost.

Like I posted last week, the starting pitching on this team is a straight-up disaster. Nothing above a typical No. 5 starter. And most of these guys aren't even good enough to be a No. 5 starter.
I know its only spring training and that pitchers are trying to get their 'work' in. But, 8 runs in 2 innings and 64 pitches is a bad day regardless of the situation.
What also stands out to me that the pitchers who followed Keller surrendered only 2 runs over 6 innings.
It likely is past time to be concerned about Keller's ability to be a solid member of the starting rotation, let alone a staff ace.
