Just my opinion but I think Anthony Alford will be given the opportunity to be the starting centerfielder next year. It was too bad he got hurt shortly after he came to Pittsburgh. He could be a very interesting player with some pop and speed.

Excuse me I didn’t think my comment about Alford needed a new thread. He is on the roster, and I think if we saw the Pirates depth chart this offseason his name would be close to the top.

If someone else wants to keep track of minor league acquisitions, they can have at it, but I will only be scoring major league acquisitions. If they want to use this thread to keep track of minor league acquisitions, I have no problem whatsoever.

The Cubs GM doesn't think that hoping his current players play better is the right strategy:
“Simply hoping for a better outcome going forward doesn’t seem like a thoughtful approach,” Epstein admitted.

And yet the Cubs roster is filled with well-paid veterans. Hardly an LMG in sight. Why didn't those guys win?
